thread
Movable eye (I used 15mm)
scissors
hot glue
Board or board of 24 inches
Instructions:
Step 1: Wrap the middle of a skein of yarn around a 24 inch board or cardboard. Wrap the whole skein of two dolls or if you are using a Styrofoam ball over 3 inches
Step 2: Cut the thread off the board at both ends of the table, so you have 2 batteries of thread about 24 inches long. If you use only half a skein, combine the batteries. If you wrapped the whole skein of yarn and making two dolls, each thread stack is a doll.
Step 3: From your battery, remove 2 pieces of wool. With the first piece, tie the yarn bunch together at the top to form hair. You can cut the long hair at all, once it is knit together.
Step 4: Place a Styrofoam ball in the middle of the yarn and soft yarn wrapped around the ball, so there is no white projection. Take the second piece of wire that you removed from the stack, wrap and tie around the ball under the ball.
Step 5: separate thread into 8 pieces and braid each piece with a coordinating color thread to tie the ends. Trim the ends so that they are all the same length
Step 6: Attach wiggle eyes yarn wrapped Styrofoam ball with a glue gun. You can leave your wrist octopus plain or add other embellishments such as hats, ties, etc.
